Daniel joined In Flames in 1998 to take the position as drummer when guitarist Björn Gelotte switched from drums to guitars. The first studioalbum Daniel appeared on was “Colony” (Same album as Peter Iwers debuted on bass).

Besides drumming, Daniel is a dedicated supporter of the Swedish soccer team IFK Göteborg, and also enjoys playing golf and spend time with his wife and three daughters.
